In the winter, Breckenridge operates November 7 through April 19 when the weather is permitting and the dates do change from year to year depending on the weather. The mountain in Breckenridge, Colorado has a base elevation of 9,600 feet and a summit elevation of 12,998 feet which is the perfect mountain for skiing. Breckenridge Town has a population of 3,535 people so it is not such a little town but has little town values. Breckenridge is the largest historic district in Colorado and it has many shops, activities and attractions for the vacationer who just doesn’t want to ski all the time.
