The full-size Chevrolet Tahoe introduced in 1995 is a true American SUV. The Tahoe Hybrid offering a notable 50 percent progress in city gas mileage ratings over the standard models might just mark the first light of a new era.
It isn’t just about bolting in an electric motor and a bank of batteries. Chevy pausing the Tahoe hybrid’s suspension has made aerodynamic pinches to the hood and front end, and set some components on a diet to relieve the load on the two-mode hybrid system.
The expected Chevy gas mileage for the Tahoe Hybrid is 22 highway / 21 city in 2WD trim, and 20 highway / 20 city for the 4WD model.
