Idaho Has The Right IDeal For Parents
July 31st, 2008
Nearly every state offers 529 savings plans for families who wish to save money for their children's college expenses. The quality of each plan, in terms of the possible fees, rules and regulations will vary. Some plans allow the account owner to change beneficiaries, while others do not. The Idaho College Savings Program, also known as IDeal, is available for Idaho residents and is managed by TIAA-CREF. The benefits for enrolling include up to $4,000 in an Idaho state tax deduction for single filers and $8,000 for joint filers. Account owners pay an annual asset based fee of 0.75 percent.
