I just found out that my ex husband is filing bankruptcy and I"m worried about the court ordered child support that we have from our divorce.
I've tried to find some alternatives to bankruptcy information for my state but am having trouble finding any information.
I would think that he can't write off future child support, but what about the past support that he is late on?
We have two kids together and while he takes them every weekend and does as much as he can with them, he helps very little with money.
I would hate think that his payments can be made to go away.

So I’d like to save on taxes and benefit a good cause at the same time. It seems like Charitable Remainder Trusts is a good way to accomplish both goals. I’ve already provided well enough for my heirs.
Everything I have read about
Irs 501c3 makes me thing that this is a good idea. I’d hate to see the bulk of my estate end up in the hands of the IRS.
Now comes the difficult part: informing my family of my decision. They’re all well provided for, of course, but they will object anyway.

I hate paying taxes and love supporting charity, so it seems to me that a
Charitable Unitrusts is an ideal solution.
From what I can tell from my research on
the Charitable Remainder Unitrust, charitable trusts are the best way to avoid taxes with a large estate.
Of course the hardest part will be convincing my wife that this is the best choice. She’ll want to give it all to the kids, but frankly they’re going to get more than enough as it is.

I’d always thought that to form a limited liability company meant working with a team of professionals, and having to deal with lots of different organizations in order to deal with all the various aspects such as taxation, registering the company, and lots of other stuff. It was only when I looked into it properly that I found out you don’t have to deal with a lot of people at all, and in fact there are some companies that will handle the whole LLC formation process from start to finish. All you have to do is provide a few details such your name, address, and the name of your company, and then after paying a fairly small fee the company formation agent will form your company in a matter of weeks. It wasn’t half as complicated as I had imagined, and to have one company deal with the whole process was great. I just wish I’d known this a long time ago.
